Hummingbird Vine / Red Cypress Vine / Ipomoea Quamoclit
Cypress vine (Ipomoea quamoclit) has thin, thread-like leaves that give the plant a light, airy texture. It is usually grown against a trellis or pole, which it climbs by twining itself around the structure. The star-shaped flowers bloom all summer and into fall in red, pink or white.
Garden Planting Tip: To improve germination, soak seeds overnight before planting.
Sow Cypress Vine seeds directly into your flower garden after all danger of frost has past. Plant seeds 1/4″ deep. Seeds sprout in 5-10 days.
Final plant spacing should be twelve inches apart.
Days to Germination: 5 – 15
